Download a backup of everything
You can download everything you can open in Scribblespace as a ZIP, at any time and whatever your role. Inside are folders of Markdown files you can read in any Markdown app, plus images and editable drawings. You can also import the ZIP back into Scribblespace later.
Export your data
- Open Settings and, under Your data, click Export your data. You can also press CtrlShiftE.
- Under Include, choose This notebook, This workspace or All my workspaces.
- To add scribbles that are still in Trash, turn on Include Trash.
- Click Download ZIP and wait while Scribblespace gathers your notebooks.
What’s in the ZIP
- A folder for each workspace, with a folder for each notebook inside
- Each scribble as a Markdown file. Links between exported scribbles and to images use relative paths, so they keep working.
- Images and editable
.excalidrawdrawings in each notebook’s assets folder - A Trash folder in each notebook, if you included Trash
- Your private scribbles, in the notebook they came from
- A README and a
manifest.jsonfile that Scribblespace uses to restore the export
Good to know
- Before exporting, Scribblespace waits for each notebook to finish syncing, so the ZIP has the latest version.
- Offline, you can export only the open notebook, from the copy saved on this device. Connect to export a workspace or all your workspaces.
- If sync has a problem, the export uses this device’s copy. It includes changes that haven’t synced yet, but changes made on other devices may be newer.
- An export can be up to 1 GiB. If yours is larger, export one workspace or notebook at a time.
