Restore a scribble from Trash
When you move a scribble to Trash, its content stays intact for 30 days. You can restore it any time before then. After 30 days it’s deleted for good, on every device.
Restore a scribble
- Click Trash at the bottom of the sidebar, or press CtrlAltT. On a notebook’s page, you can also choose Trash next to All scribbles.
- Right-click the scribble, or open its ⋯ menu, and choose Restore scribble.
If you open a scribble that’s in Trash, a notice at the top offers Restore scribble too, and CtrlShiftR restores the open scribble. To restore several at once, select them on the notebook’s Trash page and click Restore selected.
How the 30 days work
- The 30 days start when the move to Trash reaches Scribblespace. If you trashed a scribble offline, the clock starts once it syncs.
- Restoring a scribble cancels the deadline. Trashing it again starts a fresh 30 days.
- A scribble in Trash can’t be edited until you restore it, and its share links stop working.
- Links to it from other scribbles keep working once it’s restored.
Delete forever
To remove a scribble before the 30 days are up, choose Delete forever… from its menu in Trash, or select scribbles on the notebook’s Trash page and click Delete forever. It’s removed from every device and can’t be restored. Links to it in other scribbles stay, shown as deleted.
- Deleting forever needs a connection and only works in synced notebooks.
- Owners, admins and editors can move scribbles to Trash, restore them and delete them forever. Viewers can’t.
