Create, rename and delete notebooks

Notebooks hold your scribbles, and everyone in the workspace can open them. Owners, admins and editors can create and rename notebooks; only owners and admins can delete them.

Create a notebook

  1. In the sidebar, click + (New notebook) next to Notebooks. You’ll also find New notebook in the workspace menu at the top of the sidebar.
  2. Enter a Notebook name of up to 160 characters.
  3. Click Create notebook.

Creating a notebook needs a connection. It isn’t possible while the workspace is read-only or its storage is full; see Plans and pricing.

Rename a notebook

Open the notebook’s page and click its name at the top; a field appears when you hover. Type the new name and press Enter, or press Esc to cancel.

Or right-click the notebook in the sidebar (or use its ⋯ menu), choose Rename, type the name and click Save name. Viewers can’t rename notebooks.

Delete a notebook

  1. Right-click the notebook in the sidebar, or use its ⋯ menu, and choose Delete notebook….
  2. Check the name, then click Delete notebook.

Switch notebooks

Click a notebook in the sidebar to open its page. The sidebar lists the first three; click View more to see the rest. Open notebook in a notebook’s menu shows its scribbles in the sidebar. From the keyboard, use the Next notebook and Previous notebook shortcuts listed in Keyboard shortcuts.
