Workspaces, notebooks and scribbles
Scribblespace has three pieces, one inside the other: a workspace holds notebooks, and a notebook holds scribbles.
| Piece | What it is |
|---|---|
| Workspace | Your team: its people, their roles and its notebooks. You can belong to several and switch between them from the top of the sidebar. |
| Notebook | A collection of scribbles that syncs as one, images included, so the whole notebook is on your device and readable offline. Everyone in the workspace can open it. |
| Scribble | One page, with a title and a body. Plain Markdown underneath, with images, drawings, diagrams and links to other scribbles on top. |
Workspaces
When you sign up you get a workspace of your own. Create more from the workspace menu at the top of the sidebar with Create workspace, or join someone else’s by invitation.
Everyone in a workspace has one role (Owner, Admin, Editor or Viewer), and it applies to every notebook in it. Viewers can read but not write. See Roles and what each one can do.
Notebooks
Use notebooks the way you’d use folders: one for a project, one for meeting notes, one for ideas. Owners, admins and editors can create them. See Create, rename and delete notebooks.
Two notebooks are special. Daily Notes is created the first time you open today’s note; see Use daily notes. And each notebook has its own Trash, where deleted scribbles wait for 30 days; see Restore a scribble from Trash.
Scribbles
A scribble is a note. It belongs to the notebook you create it in, and everyone in the workspace can open it with their usual role. You can also share a single scribble more narrowly or more widely; see Share a scribble.
