Find your way around the app
On a computer, the sidebar on the left gets you to your workspaces, notebooks and scribbles, and the scribbles you open fill the rest of the window in tabs. Press CtrlK at any time to find a scribble or run an action by name.
The sidebar
- The workspace menu (your workspace’s name, at the top): switch workspaces or notebooks, Create workspace, New notebook, Team, Invite people, Workspace settings and Plans and billing.
- Search scribbles…: opens the command palette. See Search scribbles and actions.
- Daily Notes, Team and Settings.
- Notebooks: the workspace’s notebooks. Click one to open its page; click View more to see them all.
- Scribbles: the scribbles in the current notebook, with + to create one.
- At the bottom, Trash, and your account menu with Notes on this device, Keyboard shortcuts, Settings and backups and Sign out.
Hide the sidebar with CtrlB (or CtrlShiftB while typing), or click its right edge. Show sidebar brings it back.
An open scribble
The bar above a scribble shows where it lives (workspace / notebook / title); click the notebook to open its page. On the right are Share scribble, Make page wide, Fonts, Enter zen mode and the ⋯ menu, which has Attach image, Insert drawing, Rename, Duplicate scribble, Copy scribble link, Export Markdown, Move to trash and more.
Zen mode (AltZ) hides everything except the page. Press Esc to leave it.
Settings
Open Settings from the sidebar or with Ctrl,. It has four tabs: General (account, appearance, page style, your data and privacy), Workspace, Plans and Keyboard Shortcuts.
On a phone
The sidebar is your home screen: tap a scribble to open it, and tap the back arrow (Back to scribbles) to return. Tap the title at the top to switch between the pages you have open, and + to start a new page.
