Invite teammates

Owners and admins can invite people to a workspace. Scribblespace emails them a link to join, or you can copy the link and send it yourself. Each invitation works once, only for the email address you entered, and expires after seven days.

Send an invitation

1. Click the workspace name at the top of the sidebar and choose Invite people. You can also open Team in the sidebar and scroll to Invitations.
2. Enter your teammate’s Email.
3. Choose a Role: Admin, Editor or Viewer. See Roles and what each one can do.
4. Click Send invitation. To share the link yourself instead, click Copy link instead; the link is copied to your clipboard and shown below the form.

What your teammate does

1. Open the invitation link, or click Accept invitation in the email.
2. Sign in, or create an account, with the email address the invitation was sent to. Do it in the same browser tab.
3. Scribblespace adds them to the workspace and opens its Team page.

If they’re signed in with a different address, the invitation doesn’t work. They should sign out, then sign in with the invited address in the same tab.

Manage pending invitations

Invitations that haven’t been accepted are listed under Pending, with their role, expiry date, who sent them and whether the email went out (for example “Emailed 3 minutes ago” or “Email failed”).

• Resend emails a fresh link. The earlier link stops working. You can email the same address again after a short wait, shown on the button.
• Revoke cancels the invitation, so the link no longer works.
• Inviting the same address again replaces its earlier invitation.

Why an invitation can fail

• The link expired or was already used. Ask for a new invitation.
• The person is already a member of the workspace.
• The address has received several invitations recently. Copy the link and share it instead, or try again later.
• The person who sent it was removed, or is no longer an owner or admin. Their pending links stop working.
• The workspace’s plan has no room for another person who can edit. Viewers are free on every plan, so you can invite them as viewers, or see How Team billing counts seats.
