How Team billing counts seats
Team is billed per seat: $8 per seat a month, or $72 per seat a year. Every owner, admin and editor takes a seat. Viewers don’t, so they’re free.
| Role | Takes a seat? |
|---|---|
| Owner | Yes |
| Admin | Yes |
| Editor | Yes |
| Viewer | No, viewers are free |
Seats follow your team
You never add seats by hand. When someone accepts an invitation as an admin or editor, a seat is added. When you remove someone, they leave, or you make them a viewer, their seat goes away. Invitations that haven’t been accepted yet aren’t billed.
When seats change partway through a billing period, the difference is prorated for the rest of that period and settled on your next invoice.
An example
A Team workspace with 3 editors and any number of viewers costs 3 × $8 = $24 a month, or $216 a year when paid yearly, and has 300 GB of storage.
Storage is pooled
Each seat adds 100 GB to one pool that the whole workspace shares, so it doesn’t matter who uploads what.

Settings → Plans shows People who edit: the seats in use, how many viewers you have and any invitations still pending. The current plan’s line shows the total and the number of seats. To see what each role can do, read Roles and what each one can do.
