Upgrade to Pro or Team

Owners and admins choose a workspace’s plan on its Plans page. Payment goes through Stripe Checkout, and the plan applies as soon as you’re back.

1. Open the workspace switcher at the top of the sidebar and choose Plans and billing. You can also open Settings (Ctrl,) and pick the Plans tab.
2. If you belong to several workspaces, pick the one to upgrade in the workspace menu beside the Plans heading.
3. Under Choose a plan, pick Monthly or Yearly.
4. Select Choose Pro or Choose Team. Stripe Checkout opens; from the Android and Linux apps it opens in your browser.
5. Enter your payment details and confirm. You can also add a promotion code or a tax ID there.
6. You come back to Settings → Plans with a welcome message, and the new plan shows at the top.

If you leave Checkout without paying, you’re told Checkout canceled and nothing is charged.

Pro or Team?

Pro is for a workspace where only you write. It includes one editor, plus as many free viewers as you like. If the workspace already has more than one owner, admin or editor, Pro can’t be chosen: pick Team, or change the others to viewers first.

Team bills one seat for each owner, admin and editor. Its card shows today’s total for the editors you have now, and seats follow your team from then on. See How Team billing counts seats.

Upgrading during your trial

If more than two days of your trial are left, you aren’t charged at Checkout: the rest of the trial stays free and billing starts when it ends. The Choose a plan section shows that date.

Can’t choose a plan?

• Only owners and admins can change plans. Everyone else sees “Ask an owner or admin to change plans.”
• A workspace that already has a plan shows Switch to Pro or Switch to Team instead. See Change plan, payment method or invoices.
