Add images
The quickest way to add an image is to paste it: copy a picture or take a screenshot, click where it should go and press CtrlV. You can also:
- Drag an image file from your computer onto the page.
- Type
/imageand choose a file. - Choose Attach image from the scribble’s ⋯ menu.
- Choose Paste from clipboard from the ⋯ menu, which is handy on a phone.
Supported images and limits
- PNG, JPEG, GIF and WebP, up to 12 MiB each.
- Large photos and screenshots are scaled down to at most 2,560 pixels on the long side and re-encoded on your device before they upload. This also removes hidden details such as the photo’s GPS location.
- Small images and GIFs (which may be animated) are kept exactly as they are.
- Images count toward your workspace’s storage. See Plans and pricing.
Resize, view and remove
- Drag the handle on an image to resize it, up to 500 pixels wide. The width shows as you drag.
- Click an image to open Image preview, where you can zoom in and out or view it at 100%.
- Hover an image and click Remove image (×) to take it out of the scribble.
Offline
Images are stored on your device with the rest of the notebook, so they show offline and upload when you reconnect. While an image is still downloading to a device, it shows “Image on its way…”.
Can I attach other files?
Not yet. Scribbles hold images only, so PDFs, documents and other files can’t be attached. Store them somewhere else and add a link with CtrlShiftK.
