Comment on text
Select words and choose Comment in the toolbar above them, or press CtrlShiftM. Write your comment and press Enter to post it; ShiftEnter starts a new line. The words stay marked in yellow for everyone in the notebook.
Reply and resolve
- Click marked words to open their thread, or put the cursor in them and press CtrlShiftM. Reply at the bottom of the thread.
- Hover over the first comment and choose Resolve when the discussion is done. The mark disappears; Undo in the message that follows brings it back.
- Hover over one of your comments to edit or delete it. Deleting the first comment deletes the whole thread.
- Press Esc to close a thread and return to the page.
Good to know
- A comment stays with its words while you and your teammates edit around them. If all of the words are deleted, its mark goes too.
- Comments live beside the scribble, not in its Markdown, so exports, copies, public links and agents don’t include them.
- Moving a scribble to another notebook or making it private takes its comments along. Deleting it forever deletes them.
- Comments need edit access: viewers don’t see them yet.
- Change the shortcut in Settings › Keyboard Shortcuts. See Change a keyboard shortcut.
